Currently, there are approximately 27 locations all in the state of California. They employ over 2,000 people. The headquarters for Gelson’s is located in Encino, California. Gelson’s was acquired by Arden Group in 1966. The Arden Group sold Gelson’s to TPG Capital in 2014. In 2015, the company expanded by acquiring 8 stores from Haggen. TPG Capital is still currently the owner of Gelson’s.
